Biot : a town of artistic &
historical interest
Biot is a world centre for decorative glasswork and boasts a
number of listed historical buildings.
 |
With its period houses and streets, Biot
has retained the look and feel of a mediaeval village.
Art and craft enthusiasts will love the glass-making workshops
and history buffs will delight in the museum with its
ceramics and historical displays. |
Don't miss the national Fernand Léger museum with its fabulous
collection of modern art. The front of the building which houses
it was decorated by the artist himself who stayed in Biot with
other artists of the same generation, including Salvador Dali.
In the surrounding area
The Alpes-Maritimes department has an abundance of magnificent
scenery, stretching from the best known beaches of the French
Riviera to the unspoilt countryside inland - all within easy
striking distance of the Domaine du Jas. Half-an-hour from
the hotel is the "Vallée du Loup" (Vence St Paul Tourrette,
Bourdon, La Colle). 20 minutes away is Grasse, world centre
for the perfume industry. In just a few minutes you can be
on the beach at Antibes or Juan-les-Pins or indulge in shopping at Cannes.
It is possible to rent a car with delivery at the hotel or a minibus. We can also arrange airport delivery at the terminal.
